What to expect during your hypnotherapy sessions
The most important thing to understand is that you are always in control. At every moment, you are not sleeping but fully aware and deciding what to think and imagine.
My role is to facilitate communication between your conscious and subconscious, so you are able to align the two and change the thoughts, feelings, behaviours or habits causing problems.
I simply guide you through suggestions, which you either accept or choose not to, at every step of the way.

Your first session lasts 1.5 hours. We will discuss your issue: what it is, when it triggers, how you tend to overcome it, and what does and doesn’t help. I will then take the time to explain what hypnotherapy is and answer any questions you may have, before taking you through your first guided hypnosis. After you leave and before our next session, I will devise a tailored therapy plan.
Subsequent sessions last 1 hour, spent mostly in hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy is enjoyable.
After discussing why you came to me, clearly explaining hypnotherapy and answering your questions, we will begin your first guided hypnosis. When you feel ready, you’ll sit comfortably, close your eyes and I’ll start to guide you. You can expect an enjoyable experience in which you are in control at all times, and leaves you feeling relaxed and alert.
Your work with me has helped profoundly. It’s as you were saying, actually. A lot of the crippling negative messages just don’t come into my mind now, so I don’t even have to think about dealing with them!

A meditative state
When you’re hypnotised, you are simply relaxed. It is a meditative state, reducing the everyday mental noise to make your mind clearer, your hearing better and your perception more insightful. In short, you are more present and able to focus, and so more able to clearly decide if you accept the suggestions I give you or not. This is why all hypnosis is self-hypnosis.
Deep relaxation
When in hypnosis, you will experience a deep and comfortable relaxation. You are not in a state of deep sleep but in an enhanced state of awareness. You’ll remain fully aware of your surroundings, and of everything that is said and done. Afterwards, you’ll be able to recall as much as you would from an ordinary conversation.
I can’t remember when was the last time I felt that good ! Many thanks !

Always in control
During hypnosis, you are the only person who can choose what to imagine and think. I guide, but you decide. You can choose to rest for a moment, or to open your eyes and stop the hypnosis. The idea that hypnosis is about controlling another person’s mind is not true. On the contrary, hypnosis works to give back control to you.
You cannot be hypnotised unless you want to. You cannot be made to say or reveal anything against your will. I help your conscious and subconscious to communicate with each other, facilitating your own ability to achieve change. The power is all yours.

Leave feeling alert and well
Alert, well, relaxed, calm – my clients report these positive feelings and more. In terms of change, I find that most of the time it happens and goes unnoticed, because what was bothering my clients has gone. You may feel surprised when you finally realise your former issues have been absent for quite a while. For others, the change is immediately apparent, especially in the case of former triggers no longer functioning as such.
